Our Standard Sand EN 196-1 is used for strength testing of cement according to EN 196-1 and has been offered since 1990.

For decades our customers worldwide have been able to rely on our unrestricted delivery capability and the quality of our products. We reliably supply high-quality test sands with the highest possible uniformity in terms of their physical, mineralogical and chemical composition. In addition to our many years of production experience and modern quality management, it is our understanding of the high demands placed on building material testing which defines us. We produce a homogeneous test sand for our customers which enables reliable production monitoring.
Our aim is to guarantee all of our customers professional and friendly service always. We are therefore particularly proud of the large number of our long-standing customer relationships. Reliability in partnership, long-term thinking and sustainable action are a matter of course for us. For our production facilities we use electricity from solar energy which we have been generating for many years with our own photovoltaic system.
Our quality standards and reliability prompted the European Cement Association CEMBUREAU to commission the production of the CEN reference sand in the 1980s. This CEN reference sand production by Normensand GmbH still remains the standard against which the test sands of the European cement standard must be measured today.
External quality control
Our CEN Standard Sand EN 196-1 has been controlled by MPA for decades. The MPA Stuttgart examines randomly chosen samples of a whole year of production. As a result, current certificates of conformity are created, which can be downloaded by clicking on the product descriptions above.
